Dimapur, September 3: A book titled ‘Journey’ (Finding the hidden gems), written by Limaonen Imchen was released recently hosted by Talinunsang of The Builders Hostel. On the occasion the author was invited to share the reason and inspiration that lead him to write his second book “Journey: Finding the Hidden Gems.”
An autobiographical book of sorts, the author talks about his experiences and challenges he had faced while travelling and lived around India, Europe and South America.
Limaonen said he wrote the book to encourage and motivate the youth so that through his Journey and the challenges, they would find hope in the midst of their own struggles. The author challenged the readers to find the hidden gems in every situation they face in life and come out of that situation. Limaonen believes that the readers would be inspired and take positive steps at every step of their journey.
The author speech was followed by a song presented by Akumsunep, student of Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung.EAC Monyakshu, Sentilong Ozukum, who also released the book, told the gathering that by reading the book it was like having an intimate conversation with the author. Sentilong said “the beauty of the book” was that it is written for anyone. He said anyone could pick up the book and then discover some gems for their own life. He said the book has something hidden for everyone- a simple housewife or a complicated philosopher, an idealist of realist, a capitalist or Marxist.
Ozukum highlighted that his favourite chapter was “An encounter with a boy from the Amazon Rainforest,” because it debunked the common belief that happiness and fulfillment comes from material possession, success and prestige.
Sentilong said the two relevant lessons he learnt from the book were:
1. Life is a wonderful journey and every experience we make, be it good or bad, every person we meet, every pain we endure is the perfect preparation for the great future that only God can foresee.
2. Every little thing in this life matters
He further hoped that the book would go a long way in instilling hope and motivate every reader.
The dedicatory prayer was said by Temnameren, Youth Evangelist, MTBA, while the benediction was said by by Anungla, Youth Mentor, MTBA.
In Mokokchung, the book would be available at Nata Company, opposite Fac bus stand; Little Bunker (Milak Junction); Eastern Book Depot (below Church basement). In Dimapur the book would be available at Om Book Store and in Kohima at ACLS Book Centre.
