The final match of men’s Sepaktakraw championship in progress at WAPO Hall on May 21.[/caption]Dimapur, MAY 23: Liezha ‘B’ Colony emerged as the winners in Sechü Zubza men’s sepaktakraw championship held on May 21 at WAPO Hall, Sechü Zubza. The second position was bagged by Liezha ‘A’ Colony.
The championship was organized by the Sechü Zubza Youth Organisation (SZYO), as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations which falls this year. A total of five colonies participated in the competition.
On the same day, the men’s veteran badminton singles was also conducted, wherein, Keviselie Zhünyü of Liezha ‘A’ Colony lifted the title, while Nungsang Ao of Kherüthi ‘B’ Colony bagged the second position.
The badminton event for women and men’s veteran doubles will be held on May 28 (Saturday) at the same venue, to be followed by the Chess championship and Table Tennis for both men and women. The other events including football, volleyball, naga wrestling and the athletics events would be held in the month of December.
The information and publicity wing of SZYO has also informed that a literary day would be organized in collaboration with all the institutes of Sechü Zubza after the summer break.
As part of the jubilee year, the SZYO will also initiate a plantation day in the first week of June. The SZYO jubilee organizing committee has requested all citizens to participate in the plantation drive.
