Liangmai Baptist Association Nagaland celebrates ‘Liangmai Christian centenary’ at public ground, Tening town.

DIMAPUR — The Liangmai Baptist Association Nagaland (LBAN) celebrated ‘Liangmai Christian centenary’ on the theme ‘Christ the Lord of ages’ on November 12 and the 13th at public ground, Tening town, Peren district, with Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, general secretary of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) as the resource person.
According to a DIPR report, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener emphasised the theme, stating that Jesus Christ is the supreme authority above all of history and creation.
He asserted that Christ’s role is an eternal, unchanging foundation of strength and refuge — steadfast, secure, and dependable in times of trouble, and the salvation for those who trust in Him.
Mar explained that ‘The Lord of ages’ signifies God’s supreme, eternal authority over mankind’s history, and highlighted Christ’s unchanging nature.
On November 12 evening, Rev. Kamwang Rentta, pastor of Town Baptist Church, Tening, administered and hoisted the centenary flag, while Rev. N Silubo Zeliang, pastor of Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (D Block) inaugurated the ‘centenary jubilee hall’ and offered dedicatory prayer.
Rev. Wichampau Nchang, executive secretary and chairman of planning committee, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to all the members for supporting the association with constant prayer and financial support.
Meanwhile, Rev. Dr. Alungbou Newmai, executive secretary of Liangmai Naga Baptist Association Manipur (LNBAM) offered a dedicatory prayer and released the centenary souvenir.
The celebration witnessed choirs from various churches glorifying God through their songs. The centenary celebration culminated with the hoisting of the centenary jubilee flag by Dr. Rampaukupoing Michui, executive secretary of the Zeme Baptist Church Council (ZBCC).
