Dimapur, April 28 (EMN): Loyola Higher Secondary School (LHSS), Kiphire kicked off its annual sports and games on Friday, April 28. Rev.Fr. John Ntonse, the principal introduced and welcomed the chief guest, Longdiba L. Sangtam, SDO Civil Kiphire head quarter and all gathered during the inaugural function.
The chief guest while addressing the students at the inaugural function said he was an alumnus of the same institution and was filled with nostalgia seeing the gathering. He exhorted the students saying that games and sports create a healthy mind and also build the physic which includes proper blood circulation in the body. It also creates mental balance in the midst of hope and despair. They also teach us about the value of time because time plays a very significant role in any sport and game. While stressing the benefits of both indoor and outdoor games, he said that outdoor games help in boosting team spirit and also expands our horizon to a larger world by coming to know more friends. On the other hand, indoor games like chess and Sudoku help in concentration and mental power. Finally, he exhorted the students to be responsible citizens taking to account the future that belongs to them.
The inaugural programme witnessed a welcome melody by students of class 10. The ceremony had special highlights like march-past by 10 contingents and Sangtam traditional dance performed by students of class 12.
