Lhisemia Khel and Tsütuonuomia Khel win men's and women's basketball titles respectively at the Kohima Village Sports Association Meet 2026.

KOHIMA — The men’s team of Lhisemia Khel (L-Khel) and the women’s team of Tsütuonuomia Khel (T-Khel) clinched the basketball championship titles on Thursday as part of the ongoing Kohima Village Sports Association (KVSA) Meet 2026.
Held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima, the four-day basketball event, which began on Monday, was managed by the Kohima District Basketball Association and organised by the Kohima Village Youth Organisation.

The women's final match was played between T-Khel and Dapfhütsumia Khel (D-Khel). D-Khel dominated the match during the first half; however, T-Khel returned stronger in the second half. By the final whistle, T-Khel had secured a comeback victory with a five-point lead, ending the game at 31-26.
The men's final match between L-Khel and D-Khel saw both sides competing closely. However, L-Khel managed to outscore D-Khel in the closing period, winning 83-71.

Kevilelhou Dzüvichu of L-Khel scored 19 points for the winning team, while Neikunuo Sekhose of T-Khel scored 11 points in the women's final match.
A total of four men's teams representing all four khels of Kohima village and three women's teams participated in the championship.
