DIMAPUR, MAY 31
In what could possibly be the first of its kind in the state of Nagaland, the Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) has introduced Vertical Progression Program for learning Physics and Math for students of class VI to class IX. A press release from the school authorities on Sunday said that a program to this effect was held from May 27-30 by Akshay Agarwal, of whom the school described as “an orator and a current corporate leading Testing Software at Accenture.”
The intention behind the three-day program was to “incorporate a higher learning approach by way of using example and practical based method of teaching”, according to the school authorities.
“In an attempt to connect the learning methodology of the Indian education system with respect to a student’s learning approach, the 3-day program clubbed the learning levels as one while helping the students to recap and align on all that they have learnt thereby helping the students to be precise and conceptualize on the topics present in their level,” the press release read.
It quoted teachers, who had attended the program, as saying that the program would help the students understand the art of learning and understanding at a whole new level so that they can connect with the syllabus that lies ahead of them.
The teachers also, according to the press release, believed that it would provide the students with a command on the lessons taught as they would come to understand the ins and outs of the complete ladder of the chapters presented.
Students who participated in the program said that it would help them understand the subject more conceptually and link to the upcoming levels over the course of their education, it stated.
