KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 15: Emphasising on the practical aspects of education, a science exhibition on the theme “Inculcate scientific temper among the students for the welfare of the human society” was held at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima, on September 15.
Speaking on the occasion chief guest, minister of Rural Development & REPA, CL John, spoke on women and the role they play in society. Speaking at an all-girls school, he cited the examples of Mother Teresa and Malala Yousafzai, who despite many adversities brought about radical changes in the society. Also citing the examples of strong women like Indira Gandhi, Mamata Banerji and other women politicians, he encouraged the students to take interest in politics as well. He encouraged the students to concentrate on the practical aspects of education with sincerity in their respective fields.Minster of Forest Environment & Wildlife, Dr. Nicky Kire, also spoke on the function. The welcome address was delivered by the School Principal, Sr. Lucy, while the invocation was said by Sr. Lydia Komuhra, Superior. Besides presentations by students of Class V and VI six, dance was presented by Alito, Ayoi & Co. and word of gratitude was said by the school captain, Phoebe. The function was followed by display of projects by students of various classes.
