Dimapur, Oct. 9 (EMN): Legislators’ Forum on AIDS (LFA) organised an advocacy programme on HIV/AIDS at Shalom Bible Seminary on October 8.
Dr. Vinito L Chishi, LFA state consultant, in his introductory speech, shared that with the ever increasing HIV/AIDS scenario in Nagaland, there is a clarion call for Church leaders to take initiative toward HIV/AIDS ministry for prevention, care and support. He encouraged the students, who are preparing to enter Christian ministry, to make use of their leadership opportunity by taking positive initiatives in addressing the issues related to HIV/AIDS with regard to reducing stigma, discrimination and prevention aiming towards creating an AIDS-free generation.
Hukatoli from LFA gave a presentation on HIV/AIDS scenario of Nagaland and shared the concern on increasing number of HIV infection in the state. She also highlighted social concern and responsibility with particular emphasis on its consequences, challenges and importance of responsible living.
The programme ended with benediction said by Rev. Dr. Iralu, Principal, Shalom Bible Seminary, an update from Dr. Vinito L Chishi stated on October 9.
