Legislators’ forum on AIDS conducts seminar at Vankhosung

Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): Members of the Legislators’ Forum on AIDS (LFA) organised a seminar on HIV and AIDS, on July 26 at Witter Theological College in Vankhosung near Wokha town. The organisers issued a press release to the media on Monday informing about the event.
During the event, Dr. Vinito L Chishi gave a presentation at the programme on HIV/AIDS. He spoke about concerns about the increasing number of HIV infection in Nagaland. He talked about the roles and responsibility of the church in contributing to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Chishi encouraged the students who are preparing to enter into Christian ministry to make use of their leadership opportunity by taking positive initiatives in addressing the issues related to HIV/AIDS with regard to reducing stigma, discrimination and prevention. This is to create an AIDS-free generation in the days to come, he told the gathering.
A member of the fourm, Hukatoli, spoke about the risk factors and ‘social concerns’ and responsibility with particular emphasis on consequences, challenges and the importance of responsible living, the press release stated.
