Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Parliamentary Secretary for Higher & Technical Education Deo Nukhu inspected ongoing work on the Wokha Polytechnic Institute at Pangti village, in said district, on May 9.
“The purpose of his visit was to oversee the progress of construction work which started since 2015. All the necessary infrastructure works including the administrative quarter and class room, staff quarter, boy’s hostels, principal’s quarter have been completed,” the IPR has informed.
The parliamentary secretary informed that the proposal for “creation of post” in the institution has already been placed. He expressed hope that the institution will likely commence activity from 2018.
The legislator informed also that work to upgrade institutions was ‘under process.’ He added that that with the construction of the Wokha-Merapani road, the Wokha polytechnic institute will become a ‘good centre of education for the district and the state as a whole,’ the IPR update stated.
Departmental officials from Kohima and officials of the Wokha district administration accompanied him, the IPR added.
