Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): The advisor to IPR, SCERT and Village Guards, Toshi Wungtung on Friday met the union minister for Information and Broadcasting; and Youth Affairs and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, at the latter’s office at Shashtri Bhawan in New Delhi.
According to a press release from the Public Relations Officer of Nagaland House, New Delhi, ‘during the courtesy call, the advisor appraised the minister on the activities of the department in the state’.
“He also highlighted the problem faced by the state and requested the minister to support a special high frequency towers in the interior parts of the state for better connectivity in communication, community radio programme and FM channel. Further the advisor appealed the union minister for modernisation of IPR by construction of sub-centres in all the districts of Nagaland which should be linked with (headquarter) directorate office, Kohima for live coverage of important events in all parts of the state, local channel for all the major dialects etc.,” it informed.
According to the statement, the union minister ‘assured that he will take up the matters raised by the advisor and asked the latter to him meet again to discuss the modernisation of the IPR department in the state’.
