Tesophenyu, Oct. 14 (EMN): Parliamentary secretary of PWD (Housing), Levi Rengma, flagged-off an ambulance service of Primary Health Centre (PHC), Tesophenyu, under Tseminyu subdivision on October 14. The ambulance was donated by the parliamentary secretary to PHC Tesophenyu under Local Area Development Fund.
In his short address, the former bureaucrat turned politician was hopeful that the ambulance service will benefit the people. He also directed the ambulance to operate 24 hours in order to help the people in need.
Stating that many people had to undergo hardships due to lack of facilities at PHC Tesophenyu, he was hopeful the new initiative would service its purpose.
Dr. Tinenlo James, SMO of Tseminyu, said such facility was a big morale booster for medical fraternity under Tseminyu subdivision.
It was informed that the ambulance will be under the custody of HCMC of Tesophenyu PHC where the deserving patients can avail the service for referral on the advice of the medical officer or used for transportation of emergency medicines and vaccines. It would be used for referral facilities under Tseminyu division, NHAK and Wokha district hospital.
Levi launches SBM in Tesophenyu
Tesophenyu, Oct. 14 (EMN): Levi Rengma, parliamentary secretary of PWD (Housing) launched Swachh Bharat Movement (SBM) (cleanliness drive) in Tesophenyu village under Tseminyu subdivision as part of the ongoing Gram Samridhi Evam Swachhata Pakhwada campaign held from October 1-15 organised by Tesophenyu Students’ Union.
Er. Levi said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a cleanliness drive aimed to cover cities and towns all over India in order to clean the streets, roads and other infrastructure.
He stated that it was the most important topic for the students to know and be aware of the mission. “A healthy country and a healthy society need its citizens to be healthy and clean in every walk of life”, said Rengma.
The campaign involves construction of latrines, promoting sanitation programmes in the rural areas, cleaning streets, roads and changing the infrastructure of the country to lead the country ahead.
“Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a welcome step towards creating clean and green India by 2019,” he said and hoped that the campaign will really bring about change in the years to come.
Theodore Yanthan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, government officials, GBs, and village elders were present during the function at Tesophenyu village.
