Kohima, March 24 (EMN): The chief minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio on Saturday placed before the Nagaland Legislative Assembly the Juvenile Justice (care and protection of children) Rules.
The chief minister placed also annual administrative reports for 2017-18 of various departments including Finance, Irrigation & Flood Control, Industries & Commerce, Information & Public Relations, department of Underdeveloped Areas, Labour, Justice and Law, School Education, Social Welfare, Sericulture, Power, Electrical Inspectorate, Science & Technology, and Fisheries.
The deputy chief minister and minister in charge of Home and National Highways, Y Patton, also placed the Nagaland Societies Registration Rules of 2017.
Other annual administrative reports that were placed in the house on the fourth day of the first session of the 13th assembly by respective ministers were the department of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue, Land Resources and Urban Development.
During the day’s sitting, a discussion on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address was undertaken. Speaker Vikho-o Yhoshü reminded members that according to assembly rules, the house is to sit from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. He extended the time to 4 pm.. However the business listed for the day could not be completed.
The speaker announced that the remaining business would be taken up during the next sitting and adjourned the assembly till March 26.
