Dimapur, June 23 (EMN): Dimapur district legal services authority (DDLSA), in collaboration with Sisterhood Network, has organised a legal awareness programme at Diezephe village on June 22.
District and session judge and chairman DDLSA, Neiko Kanuo, has highlighted on the legal aid services and those who are entitled to get free legal aid. He also explained on how to lodge FIR when they are in danger.
“We are born free and all are equal. We have right to live. Law protects us as it is written in the Indian constitution,” he said.
The chairman also briefly emphasised on domestic violence and rights and protection of women.
Speaking on protection of women from domestic violence, Ms Visheli has highlighted on the definition of violence such as physical, emotional, economic and sexual abuse. She also explained on how to file maintenance U/s 125 CrPC.
DDLSA panel lawyers Ms Tonika spoke on objectives of legal services, while T Temjensoba spoke on RTI, how and where to file RTI, and Ms Nishela spoke consumer rights and how to file a consumer case.
