Kohima, March 16: An official document of the list of beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Road Development Fund (CMRDF) during 2016-17 worth Rs 12,50,00000 (twelve crores and fifty lakhs) signed by TR Zeliang as the chief minister dated 8th March 2017 is being widely circulated in various social media.
Zeliang had resigned from his chair on February 19 last and Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu took over as the new chief minister of the state on February 22.
When contacted, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has claimed that the date under Zeliang’s signature on the document reads “2” in the slot indicating the month and not “3”.
Meanwhile, in what appears to be a leak of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) papers meant for the forthcoming Budget Session scheduled to commence from March 21, documents of ‘starred questions’ raised by a BJP legislator are also being circulated in social media.
The questions, as per the documents, are raised to various departments including Food & Civil Supplies, Home, Education, Health & Family Welfare, and Roads & Bridges, which are considerably under public glare with regard to suspected illegal appointments, sanctioned funds, utilisation of funds and status of investigation under these departments.
While the Assembly Secretariat could not be contacted and calls made to the Commissioner & Secretary NLA went unanswered, the Chief Minister’s Office, when contacted regarding the matter, informed that if those questions were raised in the Assembly, details would be furnished in the same platform.
