Dimapur, June 16 (EMN): Kipi Qomi Welfare Society (KQWS), a non-profitable NGO based at Dimapur with its branch office at Zunheboto, has organised leadership development training programme for minority women (non-residential) at Atoizu town jubilee hall on June 16. The programme was sponsored by the ministry of minority affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, under the scheme “Nai Roshni.”
The training programme, which was chaired by Kavito Achumi, began with a word of prayer said by Ms Khevikali Achumi, associate youth pastor of Atoizu Town Baptist Church (Nito Mount).
Resource person and senior nurse of Atoizu PHC, Mrs Tozheli Awomi, spoke on the topic ‘Health and hygiene.’ In her talk, the resource person strongly advocated that the health of women determine the asset of a nation. She advised that women should always keep themselves healthy in order to shoulder any eventuality that might arise out of any situation especially at home.
Stating that every woman should make use of the freely available government schemes like NHM, the resource person encouraged the young mothers to immunise their child in order to enable them live a healthy life when they grow up. She also demonstrated on the technique of hand washing to the participants.
The programme ended with a prayer said by Ms Nighatoli Chishi, associate women pastor of Atoizu town Baptist Church (SBAK Aizuto). The programme was attended by around 40 women from Atoizu town and surrounding villages.
