DIMAPUR — The Lotha Catholic Khumshum Kohima (LCKK) held prayer and recollection in preparation for the diocese jubilee on Monday at St. Francis de Sales (SFS) Church, Kohima, with Rev. Fr. Glanson Chacko as the speaker.

According to a press release, the theme of the programme was ‘May my prayer be like incense in your presence, my uplifted hands like the evening sacrifice’ (Psalms 141-2).

In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Chacko emphasised the importance of prayer and recollection as the diocese approaches its jubilee. He mentioned that prayer, being the cornerstone of one's faith, plays a central role in this preparation.

He added that the prayerful moments are providing solace and spiritual strength as they look forward to commemorating the significant event. Rev. Fr. Chacko also stressed the importance of recollection, a practice of introspection and self-examination.

He said that it is an opportunity for the faithful to review their lives, acknowledge their shortcomings, and make amends where necessary.

The practice of recollection is seen as a pathway to spiritual growth and a way to approach the jubilee with a renewed commitment to living out their faith, he added.

The programme concluded with a Holy Mass celebration.
