Dimapur, Jan. 13 (EMN): The Lotha Baptist Ekhumkho Sanrhyutsü (LBES) 19th youth rally got underway on Fri. at N Longidang, under the theme “Nkenphio Longtsü” “” (Audacious Faith) Hebrews 11:1.
The rally will conclude on Jan. 14. The DPRO updated about the event on Sat.
The rally was inaugurated by Pastor Lakhuti Baptist Church, Rev. Ezanbemo Odyuo.
Speaker of the second day programme, Pastor UBC Doyang, Rev. Ellis Lotha is stated to have encouraged and called on youngsters to live true, exemplary and steadfast Christian lives.
‘Through the rally usher in a revival and renewal of self, the church and society so that there will be peace and cooperation among people for one’s growth and reconciliation with God,’ the Rev said.
Youth secretary of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Rev. Viko Rhi in his greetings informed that under the NBCC there are 1615 churches and 6,15,000 baptised believers out of which, youth comprises 2,12,000. Out of which, he said the LBSE is one mong the largest numbers and can be the agents of change for better future and guardians of faith in the changing times of today.
In the first service, 46 youth took pledge and committed their lives to Christ Jesus, the press release informed.
The Bible study was conducted by youth director Old Changsu Nsungbeni Kithan, and lecturer CTC Renbi Rangthang.
In the seminar session, joint director Rural Development, Thungjamo Odyuo spoke on the topic “Overcoming poverty while inhabiting a fertile land as ours,” and district session judge, Longshithung Ezung spoke on legal awareness.
Youth Director Purna Bazar Khothungo Kikon and Prof. Dr. W Athungo Ovung share on topics ‘back to the land’ and ‘youth in the culture of materialism.’
The rally is being hosted by Tiyi Longchum Range Baptist Churches Fellowship.
The organisers claimed that around 1700 youth of Wokha district, Shillong and Assam states are attending the rally.
