WOKHA — The 101st conference of Lotha Baptist
Churches Association (LBCA) office bearers and executive members concluded on
Sunday at Wokha Town Baptist Church.
In his greetings, Professor Y Ben Lotha from the department
of History and Archaeology at Nagaland University, Kohima campus, challenged
the congregation to foster unity saying that where there is unity, there is
progress. He stated that absence of unity affects the social, economic and even
the progress of churches.
Mentioning that lack of patience and consideration destroy
the character development of a community, he urged the congregation to be a
good listener rather than a talker and also respect their leaders.
He also spoke on research and fact findings in leading the
community and urged the congregation to pursue producing more dedicated
education and academicians by giving due importance to their literature.
While observing that Lothas have declined in producing
academicians, he advised the students to rededicate themselves and give
importance to studies. He pointed out that every standard of exam is important
to become a qualified professor in the present generation.
He also spoke on cultural identity and defined language as
the prime identity of a community. He further encouraged the intellectuals to
write and produce more scripts and writings in Lotha literature to help the
language keep alive.
Speaker of the event, Rev. LL Kikon, delivered a message
basing on Psalm 37:5, wherein he urged the congregation to be committed and
rededicate their lives to God. He reminded the believers to humble themselves
and committed to serve God for all their lives.
He further urged the gathering to uphold the target and
resolutions for 2025 adopted during the service to ‘rededicate and pursue for
reconstruction of LBCA in coming together in unity.’
The three-day event culminated with the induction of new
