Member of Legislative Assembly Kuzholuzo Nienu has said that discovering and researching language is ‘God’s blessings to the people,’ and that the Naga must realize that its true wealth lies in ‘our weather, climate, soil conditions, rivers, mountains, culture, traditions and not forgetting our languages.’
Speaking at the 5th general session of the Chokri Chakhesang Literature Committee (CCLC) on Thursday at the Zonal Council Hall as the chief guest, Nienu urged the Chokri-speaking people to ‘utilize the beautiful language’ as a wonderful asset provided by God, and to sincerely pursue its development. Calling multi-linguistic abilities the need of the hour, the politician called upon the community to be updated with the other fellow Khezha (Khuzhami) and Sapu-speaking dialects ‘thereby avoiding confinement of our own speaking languages.’
‘Deep confinement of one speaking language creates lack of unity and also hampers the development of education, economic etc,’ Nienu said and urged them to motivate the spirit of rediscovery to know more languages.
Chairman of the Chokri Chakhesang Literature Committee Ariyi Nienu presided over the session for discussions.
The Chokri Chakhesang Literature Committee has also instated new of office bearers for the tenure 2016-2018. The new team is led by Jolayi Nienu as their chairman.
