Wokha, Aug. 6 (EMN): Massive landslides triggered by heavy rains destroyed shops and obstructed vehicular movement in Wokha on Friday.
A landslide at Police Point damaged vegetable outlets but owners of three shops narrowly escaped without harm, it was informed.
Another major landslide occurred at Airfield colony in Wokha on Friday, cutting off the road that connects the colony and the town.
Incessant rains and strong winds also reportedly snapped a utility pole at Etsutchukha colony on the same day.
It may be mentioned that the Wokha-Merapani road was blocked due to a rockslide that occurred between Sanis and Doyang on Thursday.
