Shops damaged by landslides in Peren town on October 21.

Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): Landslides triggered by incessant rainfall led to the damage of 14 shops, toilets and a playground gallery measuring a stretch of 170 feet in Peren town on October 21 at around 7:30 am.

DPA (DDMA) Peren, Kedigong informed that since there was no proper drainage system in the playground, the incessant rainfall resulted in water logging in the playground and subsequently led to the landslide. A DIPR report stated that the deputy commissioner of Peren and DDMA chairman, Sentiwapang Aier, along with ADC Peren, K MhathungTsanglao, district disaster management officials and Dobashis inspected the spot and provided immediate relief package to the families affected by landslide.
