- DIMAPUR — A major landslide struck a portion
of National Highway-129A (Package-II) near Old Jalukie (Upper) around midnight
on June 10, disrupting vehicular movement along the Peren-Dimapur stretch.

- The incident caused heavy debris to block the highway,
rendering the affected section impassable for the time being. According to a
press release issued on Wednesday, a construction team is currently engaged in
clearance operations to restore normal traffic flow.
- In the interim, commuters have been advised to take a
diversion via Old Jalukie to Peren Old Road to ensure safe passage.
- Emergency response teams are monitoring the situation to
expedite the clearance process, it said, urging travellers to exercise caution
and remain updated on the further developments.
