Wokha, Aug. 8 (EMN):
Landslides triggered by unprecedented heavy downpour on August 6 destroyed several houses and properties in Lower Etsutchuka Colony in Wokha town.

Reliable sources informed Eastern Mirror that at least five houses and properties were damaged besides affecting normal life. It, however, informed that there was no report of any casualty. It was informed that several houses developed cracks on floors, walls, and retaining walls due to the landslides.

Till the filing of this report, the residents said that they were yet to inform the authorities concerned on the matter. The estimated loss caused by the landslide was not yet ascertained.

It may be mentioned here that several houses and properties including standing crops and roads are damaged by landslides every year during monsoon in Nagaland.
