Landslide alert: 20-day traffic ban on Kohima-Jessami road stretch

- DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Phek has
informed that due to ongoing excavation of hill slopes along the road at
Chainage: 115 + 600 to 115 + 850 (between Losatephe & Lanezho village)
under package-V of the Kohima-Jessami road, it has witnessed continuous
landslides and rockfalls.
- “Therefore, in the interest and safety of the general public
and as a precautionary measure to prevent any casualty, temporary traffic
movement along the stretch is hereby strictly restricted for a period of 20
days (from March 28 to April 16).
- “Henceforth, travellers are advised to take the alternate
route, i.e., via Pfutsero-Sakraba-Upper Khomi-Phek-Lanezho and vice versa. This
is issued for strict compliance,” stated the order.
