Dimapur, Nov. 11 (EMN): Keeping in mind the new challenges in the era of modern technology, the Lakhuti public organised fete day in aid of Don Bosco School, Lakhuti computer lab on Nov. 11 at the Community Hall. The programme was organised under the theme “God loves a cheerful giver.”
The chief guest for the programme, Dr. William Humtsoe reminded the students that the parents have organized the event for them. He said it is mandatory for every student to equip oneself with at least the basics in this world of computer. He also appreciated the public and leaders for coming up with the novel idea of raising fund for such a noble cause.
Delivering welcome address, Rev. Fr. Saji Mathew briefed the importance of setting up the computer lab in the school.
The organising committee set up variety of vegetable, lottery, handicraft, eatery and other stalls.
A release informed that the fete day idea was envisaged by the staff of the school, initiated by active village elders and headed by the Illustrious Alumni of the school residing in the village.
The organisers in a release said in this era of modern technology everyone is being caught up with the latest technologies which makes life easier and better equipping to face the new challenges and relevant in future. “This desire has grown deep in the hearts and minds of everyone around the world and the thirst for modern technology has not left the far flung villagers of Lakhuti undisturbed either,” said the organisers. Also, they added that lack of monetary resources would not hold back their desire to provide equal opportunity to their children and with this Lakhuti public came up with the programme for the welfare of the students of the village.
