
DIMAPUR — Lakhuni Ayim, in collaboration with the department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland, celebrated Mini Hornbill Festival at the Alongtaki community centre with the minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, as the chief host.
An update from Tourism department stated that the event was meticulously planned and executed that highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the region. The cultural segment featured a Tsüngremmong song performed by the Changdang village council, setting a vibrant tone for the event.
It stated that the chief host delivered a keynote speech by highlighting the government's commitment to promoting cultural tourism.
Short speeches were also delivered by the chairmen of various village councils including Lakhuni, Japu, Lirmen and Chungtiayimsen, each emphasising the importance of cultural preservation and community development.
A song was presented by Imkongsenla Longkumer.
Report stated that the Mini Hornbill Festival successfully showcased the vibrant traditions of Alongtaki, attracting attendees from across Nagaland and beyond and underscored the region's potential as a cultural tourism destination.
Other distinguished officials including Mhathung Yanthan, advisor of Agriculture; Kekhrie Yhome, advisor of School Education and SCERT; Nchumbemo Lotha, secretary of Tourism department; Veyielo Doulo, director of Tourism department, and other officials from various departments attended the celebration.
