Dimapur, May 10 (EMN): Assistant Commandant of 4th NAP Battalion, K Lucy Yhome, motivated members of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to take up career in uniformed services mainly in the defence and police forces.
She stated this during delivering a lecture at the ongoing NCC combined annual training in Sazolie College on May 9. Altogether, 348 girl cadets, who attended the interactive lecture, were highly impressed on getting to interact with a lady police officer.
She shared her experiences of life in uniform as a lady and cleared all apprehensions of the girl cadets. In conclusion, she presented details of the selection process and what it takes to cross the threshold.
The camp commandant, Col. Avinash Pitre, CO 1 Naga Girls Bn NCC, expressed gratitude to the state police department. He stated that it was the first time that a lady police officer had addressed the girl cadets at a camp and interacted with them. He presented the lady officer with NCC handbooks on common and specialised subjects.
A quick survey at the end indicated that more than 70% of the cadets were fully motivated to don the uniform.
