LOCAL Area Development Programme (LADP) for the year 2013-14 for Kiphire district was discussed and forwarded for approval to the state government during the monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for the month of August today in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire.Vice chairman & DC Kesonyü Yhome (IAS), who chaired the meeting, also welcomed the new board members Dr E Nrithung Lotha MS Kiphire , Nukshi Matong BDO Kiphire and Vekhrolo Koza BDO, Pungro.
The Board reviewed the last meeting minutes and discussed new agendas. As per the proposal submitted by the Thanamir Village Council for change of nomenclature, the board forwarded to the state government for approval of recognition of Thanamir village as Apple Village.
The board discussed and forwarded to the government proposal for creation of Science stream in the district.
Selection of suitable site for helipad and fulfilling of minimum requirement as per the Civil Aviation Ministry of India and chopper service at least twice a week was discussed and forwarded to the Government for consideration.
DC Kesonyü also informed the house that as per the direction of the state Government under the banner of Indian Red Cross Society (IRC) the district would organize mass cleanliness drive on August 10. Chief Medical Officer Kiphire Dr. W Punsokiu gave a power point presentation on department activities in the district, while the department of Roads & Bridges was entrusted to present their departmental activities in the next meeting.
