Diphu, Oct. 26: The Karbi Youth Organisation (KYO) has demanded immediate action against those medical stores who run their pharmacy under fake pharmacist registration as per Assam Pharmacy Council list while making mandatory the presence of Pharmacist in every medical store as per Pharmacy Act, 1948 under section 42. This was stated in the memorandum submitted on Oct. 25 to Karbi Anglong Deputy Commissioner, Adil Khan.
The organisations also mentioned that they had submitted memorandum earlier on October 16, 2017 against pharmacy plying on fake pharmacist registration in the district and thus playing with the life of common peoples of the district by violating Drugs & Cosmetic Act. 1940 and rules 1948 (under the section 42 of this Act. Drugs are to be dispensed purely by a registered pharmacist only and presence of Pharmacist is mandatory in each pharmacy).
But till now no action has been taken by the authority alleged the organisation.
The memorandum was signed by its General Secretary Se-im Teron and President Jackyson Terang.
