Diphu, July 1 (EMN): The Karbi Youth Organisation (KYO) has demanded the concerned authority of four nominations for Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) seat for the term of 2017-2022 and stated that only the listed Sixth Schedule Hill Tribe should be given nomination berth i.e, Kuki, Rengma Naga, Mai-tai speaking, Garo, Khasi etc.
This was informed in a press statement by the General Secretary Se-im Teron and Jackyson Terang, President.
Besides, the organisation has informed to the people and to the Government of Assam that Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasoa district falls under the jurisdiction of Sixth Schedule area of the Indian Constitution and all rights are reserved to the people of ST hills tribes.
It also stated that, it would not be tolerated by overlooking to the schedule tribes right.
The organisation also warns if any untoward incident occurs in the district the concerned authority should hold the responsible.
The organisation also reaffirms their stand for the proper implementation of the sixth schedule of the Indian Constitution and the twin districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasoa in order to protect and safeguard the culture, tradition and culture of the tribal people.
