The Urban Development Officer, Department of Urban Development, Government of Nagaland, Wokha, Solesül Tholre graces as Chief Guest of 51st Kidima Youth Organisation (KYO) Annual Sports cum Wrestling Meet 2016 of three days 7th to 9th January held at Kidima Local Ground.
Solesül Tholre addressing in the occasion as Chief Guest asked the village people to retrospect of sports history and carry out for reputation with the blessing of God. Tholre urged the sportspersons to earn education along with sports. Calling the young people to maintain the spirit of sports with their best for their village and nation in general, he added.
Ketosü Soleho, Assistant Engineer, Medical Engineering, Division Kohima, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland addressing in the closing ceremony as Guest of Honour asked the sportspersons to remember the blessing of God and village and give their best talent and return bring unity to the village.
Edikunu Rikha from Makromi Cultural Society (MCS) team was selected the best player for women’s volleyball. Kuzokhol Phinyo representing Virhatso Khathitso Society (VKS) team selected the best player in men’s volleyball. Kenongoto Thokhwe representing Temi Youth Club (TYC) was the highest soccer and best player in the men’s football. MCS emerged women’s champion and TYC won runner’s up. VKS and MCS won the title of champion and runner’s up in men’s volleyball. Men’s football TYC and Puchotso Kintso Club (PKC) won the champion and runner’s up. Sahovi John Phinyo, Kediseto Kiso and Mezivil Kiso won the champion, second and third position in Naga style.
Edikunu Rikha from MCS team an Individualist of women in Golden Jubilee 2015 celebration and Kevizeto Thokhwe from TYC was lighted by Tournament flame.
The best discipline was awarded to TYC adjudged in three days tournament. In the final match referee was awarded yellow card to PKC goalkeeper.
Earlier invocation was pronounced by Videse Pucho and Kuhol Rote, Pastor, CRC and Deacon Kidima Baptist Church. Unfurling of tournament flag by the Chief Guest, administration of oath to players, enthralling of KYO anthem with special numbers by Vikhriezono Yore and Metenol Temi were the highlights of the programme. Government officials from various departments, neighbouring villagers and sports lovers witness the KYO meet. Free style also played in different categories for selection of Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) Meet. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour donated a sum of `20,000/- and `15,000/- respectively for KYO welfare fund. The Guest of Honour lady wife also contributed `5,000/- for wrestlers who representing Kidima for forthcoming SASA meet.
