Dimapur, Aug. 26 (EMN): The Külolau Yemishe Ghami Kughakulu (KYGK) has issued statement seeking justice for one of its members who was shot dead at his residence in front of his wife, children and family members on August 16.
Without naming any particular faction, the (KYGK) has made an appeal not to shield the "persons involved in the dastard act of killing Lt. Col. Toishe Yeptho" under the "guise of being a National Worker but should be immediately terminated from the respective factions" if they belong any group in order to let the law enforcing agency pursue the matter as per the law of the land and in the interest of justice.
It further pleaded the investigating authority that the persons involved in the cold-blooded murder of its member "cannot be condoned at any cost and should be booked and put to trail at the earliest."
"Taking the life so easily without any culpable offence and taking law into their own hands should not go unpunished in a civilised world," read the statement, adding that "it's high time we set an exemplary punishment to those criminals."
KYGK also added that it is against any factional hostility among brothers out of this issue, saying that "killing each other cannot bring solution." However, the union stated that it will not remain a mute spectator till the persons involved in the killing are booked by the law enforcing agency under the relevant sections of law.
