Dimapur, May 23: A ten-day induction training programme for the newly inducted primary teachers under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan concluded on May 23 at the Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Dimapur. The programme was first of its kind held in Dimapur which began on May 13.
The training was conducted with the main objective to train the teachers and to equip them with necessary skills required to help in shaping students. Personality development, adapting with environment, change of attitude, and intellectual developments were some of the others being taught to the trainees.
During the training, the teachers were taught on various topics such as training overview, its objectives and plan; child rights and child psychology; admission guidelines; responsibilities of the teacher; KVK’s code of conducts and discipline maintenance.
The associate course director, S Lemtur, in one of her training session with the teachers, talked about the child psychology and child rights. She emphasised on the Right to Education of 2009 and the Article 21 A of the Indian Constitution, which described the importance of free and compulsory education for children between the aged of 6-14 years. She also spoke on the importance of child behaviour, their ways of thinking and how to approach them.
Some of the activities for the trainees included making them have hands on real time classroom environment, paper and subject presentation, demonstrations, educational tour and other practical sessions.
The resources persons for the training were principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya School of Dimapur, SN Gupta, and a primary teacher of the school, NH Mao. The course director for the training was Umesh Chandra and the associate course director was the headmaster of the KVK of Dimapur, S Lemtur. Altogether 46 teachers from across the country participated in the training.
