DIMAPUR — The three-day regional sports meet of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Tinsukia region, kicked off at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dimapur, on September 7.
Col. Sameer Khanna, the chief guest of the event, in his address, encouraged the participants by saying that “Overall growth of the child is the essence of education,” an update stated.
Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dimapur, MH Shimray, welcomed all the officials from KVS, Dimapur Sports Authority, escorts teachers and all the participants.
He encouraged the students to participate in the event with a positive spirit and not to indulge in any unhealthy or unfair means.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp. A welcome song and Naga dance were also presented by the students of KV, Dimapur.
YB Singh, TGT (P&HE), Rangapahar, administered the oath-taking of the participants comprising 12 Kendriya Vidyalayas. Altogether, 250 participants from four different states - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland - came together to compete in events including kho-kho (girls), basketball and kabaddi.
Officials from the Dimapur District Basketball Association, Nagaland Kabaddi Association and Nagaland Kho-Kho Association were also present to officiate the event.
