
DIMAPUR — Krishi Vigan Kendra, Phek, is conducting a weeklong event under Mission LiFE introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26 in Glasgow on November 1, 2021.
The event kicked off on May 23 and 24 respectively at two NICRA villages - Phusachodu and K Basa - under Phek district, an update stated.
Modi in his address at COP26 had said, "Mission LiFE can become a mass movement of Environmental Conscious Lifestyle. What is needed today is Mindful and Deliberate Utilisation, instead of Mindless and Destructive Consumption."
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]As part of the event, a seminar on awareness of climate resilient crop foxtail millet was held where Dr. Hannah K Asangla, CTO Agronomy, spoke on the importance and the need to revive foxtail millet cultivation because of its high nutritive values and also to meet the market demand.

Veralu Hesuh, YP II, shared on the need to prevent infestation of Fall armyworm (FAW), in the early stages and to strengthen the field diagnosis procedure of FAW.
The seminar was attended by 37 farmers, it stated.
