
DIMAPUR — As a part of 100 days action plan on ‘Scientific agricultural interventions for enhancing rural livelihood,’ the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mokokchung, conducted a vocational training from August 10 to the 16.
An update from KVK Mokokchung stated that fifty farm women engaged in different agricultural practices were trained during the programme.
It stated that the programme was organised to uplift the socio-economic status of the rural poor through scientific way of agricultural practices. The courses included topics from horticulture, agronomy, soil conservation, plant protection and animal science with an aim to enhance the skills of the farming community with a multi-disciplinary approach.
Report added that the programme was mainly focused on existing farming situation and scientific intervention for the improvement of the same with different package of practices for horticultural crops, soil health management for enhancing yield, modern agronomic practices, pest and disease management of important crops and scientific management of livestock.
Resource persons from KVK Mokokchung were Imtisenla (Agronomy), Imtilemla (Soil Science), Martha (Plant Protection), Khekali (Horticulture) and Dr. Sarendi Walling (Animal Science).
