KVK Kohima organises training on organic nutrient management and kitchen gardens for police staff in Tseminyu.
DIMAPUR — Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kohima, under Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone-VII, conducted a one-day training programme on "Organic nutrient management in rabi crops & importance of kitchen garden" at the conference hall of the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu, on Thursday.
The programme was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police, Tseminyu, Tumchobemo Yanthan.
During the technical session, the Subject Matter Specialist in Soil Conservation from KVK Kohima, Imtinuksung, explained organic nutrient sources, the use of biofertilisers, and liquid formulations to enhance soil health and rabi crop production.
Turning to household health, the session highlighted how a kitchen garden can provide nutritional security, economic savings, and chemical-free vegetables throughout the year.

A hands-on demonstration of soil organic carbon testing was conducted using soil organic detection kits.
Altogether, 57 personnel from the Police department in Tseminyu district attended the training. The programme concluded with the distribution of rabi seed kits.
