KVK Kohima hold its 18th Scientific Advisory Committee meeting.

DIMAPUR — The 18th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima, was held on February 6, at KVK conference hall, with Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, as the special guest.
The meeting was attended by officials from the line departments including district heads and officers from Agriculture & Allied departments, women club members of Tseminyu district and progressive farmers from both Kohima and Tseminyu, an update stated.
In his address, the deputy commissioner emphasised the need for convergence among Agri. & Allied departments to expand proven technologies, promote climate-resilient varieties, Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITKs), agri-entrepreneurship in floriculture, particularly for women-led FPOs & SHGs.

He also applauded KVK Kohima for doing a tremendous job in uplifting the livelihood of the farming community in both the districts.
Dr. Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Kohima, presented the SAC highlights, underlining the role of KVKs as technology hubs.
He elaborated on on-farm testing, frontline demonstrations, and capacity building for farmers, rural youths and extensions workers, aimed at enhancing productivity through location-specific innovations. On the occasion, a video titled ‘Advancing agriculture through innovation’ by KVK, Kohima, was released by the special guest.

After thorough discussion and deliberation, the house unanimously approved the AAP 2026-27.
During the interactive session, officials stressed the importance of interdepartmental collaboration in addressing farmers’ challenges and fostering holistic agricultural development in the districts.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sesenlo Kath, Technical Officer, KVK Kohima.
