CHOZUBA — Asserting that society’s failure to achieve its desired goals cannot always be attributed to the government, Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA, urged the people to introspect morally and spiritually instead of resorting to a culture of blame on Wednesday.
He stated this while addressing the opening ceremony of the 31st Wrestling Meet of the Chozuba Range Wrestling Association (CRWA), held at the Local Ground, Chozuba Town, under Phek district.
He stated that blaming the government for every unmet aspiration has become a common but unhealthy practice among the Nagas.
He remarked that whether it is personal failure, natural calamities, or even the delay in achieving a political solution or settlement, the tendency has been to place the responsibility solely on the government and leaders.

Terming such attitudes and behaviour as “totally unacceptable” in society, Nienu called upon the people to move away from blame games and instead come together to work in the greater interest of society. He stressed that unity, cooperation, and collective responsibility are essential for meaningful progress.
Further, Nienu stated that the inability to achieve desired goals is rooted not in governance failures but in a moral and spiritual decline among the people. In this regard, he emphasised recommitting oneself to God and restoring moral and spiritual values, which would lead to visible and positive changes in society.
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives, Nienu noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, sports has been recognised as one of the biggest emerging industries, with significant investment from the state budget.
However, he added that despite these efforts, the lack of expected achievements is not due to inadequate government support but rather the absence of discipline and moral and spiritual well-being.
