
Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): Modern School at New Market in Kohima, represented by Muna Kumar and Richard Kuotsu, secured the first position in the ‘All Nagaland State Level Math Quiz Competition’ for class 10 students (NBSE syllabus) held at St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama, on November 12.
The math quiz competition was conducted by the Mathematics department of St. Joseph’s College, in collaboration with CEDOK (Commission for Education Diocese of Kohima), on the theme ‘Eliminating fear, thinking logically,’ informed an update from the college.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima, represented by Metejopinu Khanyo and Aleena Ann Abey won the second position, while Supongmenla Kichu and Likhuli Sangtam representing Queen Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung, won the third position.
The first, second and third position holders received cash prize of INR 25,000, INR 20,000 and INR 15,000 respectively along with certificates.
Consolation prizes of INR 5000 each and certificates were awarded to Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, and St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Viswema.
Altogether, 16 schools from Dimapur, Mokokchung, Longleng and Kohima took part in the competition.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, secretary of CEDOK, declared the competition open, it stated.
