Kuki students’ sports week kicks off

Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): The 5th edition of "Chavang Golseh", a weeklong sports event initiated by the Kuki Students' Organisation Nagaland (KSON) kicked off under the theme "Sweat for Success" at its head-quarter in Ahthibung town, in Peren on Oct. 15. Media cell, KSON issued a press release on Tuesday stating that the opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Peren S. Tainiu as the special guest. The special guest in her speech exhorted the organisation for initiating such event and stressed on the importance of how games and sports is a blooming industry that can even be chosen as a career by the youth community. She further stated that sports can be a career provided if only one is conscious of his or her health and abstain from all the things that can hamper one's health. The week-long event will witness different sport events such as football, volleyball, badminton, and marathon race. The sports week will culminate on Sat. Oct. 20.
