Dimapur, March 26 (EMN): The Kuhuboto Town Joint Council has resolved to ban unauthorised collection of “taxes,” sale of liquor and other intoxicating items, within Kuhuboto.
A resolution to this effect was taken during a joint meeting of the Kuhuboto council with a special team constituted by the council. The meeting was conducted on March 23, it was informed.
Leaders from different walks of life discussed on the prevailing situation of Kuhuboto town and resolved to enforce blanket ban on liquor and other banned substances in the town with immediate effect from March 23 onwards.
The resolutions were jointly signed by Q Tuccu, GPRN/ NSCN collective leader; Azheto Chophy, GPRN/NSCN collective leader; Hojei Swu, GPRN/NSCN kilonser; Kakuho Assumi, chairman GPRN/NSCN UT-I; Vikuto Rochill, president of KGKK, Ghoshito Shohe, president of KGPO, Kabo G Zhimomi, president of KGSU, Isali Tuccu, president of KGSTH; Ghoshito, president of KGBPF; P Kiyekhu Yeptho, chairman of KTJC; Nivishe Kinny, convenor GB Kuhuboto town; Honito Yeptho, convenor SOT; and others. It was decided that SOT would keep check on the illegal activities.
The resolution stated that action would be taken against anyone found selling liquor, banned drugs and other intoxicating substances. It has empowered SOT to seize any vehicle transporting other intoxicating substances and handed over to the police. The meeting also resolved not to allow collection of unauthorised taxes.
