Dimapur, November 7: The 33rd annual meet of Kuhuboto Ghakhu Sports Association got underway at Khughovi Village, Kuhuboto on Monday with the minister for PHED Tokheho Yeptho gracing the inaugural programme as the chief guest.
The minister in his speech called for the true leadership and proper guidance towards today's generation. He urged the elders to lead the young generation on the right path and also asked the generation of today's to reflect back at the past days what our past leaders have taught.Yeptho further lamented that “among the eight north-eastern sister states, Sikkim being the smallest yet one of the most advancing states in India whereas sadly Nagaland is the poorest and the most corrupted state. Which is why honesty and hardworking is the urgent need in the Naga society”, a press release stated.
He also a plea to the players not only to rely on government service rather exhibits one's own talent in the field of sports and make a living through sports.
In the opening football match, the host team Khughovi defeated Lotovi B by 3-1, Ghokito outclassed S. Hotovi by 5-1 in the second match and Suhovi beat Lotovi A by 2-1 in the last match. Altogether 21 villages are participating at the weeklong annual meet.
