Kohima, July 27 (EMN): Joining the world of smart tutorial, Oriental College, Kohima today launched its official website and smart class for degree courses while also adding Day Care Centre and Gymnasium.
Director of Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi formally launched the website orientalcollegekohima.in and other amenities as part of its 21st Fresher’s Day.
Exhorting the students, Kuholi said that as young students they should inculcate the habit to learn, realise and achieve. Being students they should prepare themselves to learn as much as, she said while also encouraging them to also realise what they have learnt in order to achieve the ultimate goal in life.
Learning should not be an end in itself but one should realise what they have learnt, she said.
Achievements have different levels, but one should aim for the highest, she said while also maintaining that in this competitive world mere achievement will not bring any success.
Oriental College principal, Dr. Ketshukietuo Dzüvichü said altogether 202 students have enrolled in Class 11 Arts and Commerce streams, BA and B Com courses for this academic session.
He encouraged the freshers, stating that passing out Class 10 and 12 exams should not be an end but a beginning of a new journey.
He asserted that the college authorities have been working out to cope up with fast changing world of information technology in order to provide better college management. He said smart class rooms have been provided for degree courses in order to help students learn through IT facilities, besides digitising the college library.
The principal also informed that the College is also preparing grading through assessment of National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
Chaired by assistant professor, Tumben Ngullie, the programme commenced with invocation by assistant professor, Imtinaro Amri while OCKSU general secretary, Kuzoto Shijo delivered welcome address. Special song was presented by BA 5th Semester and Sabitri & friends.
Speech on behalf of freshers was presented by Neivotsonuo Mezhü and benediction by assistant professor, Gwasole Tep.
