Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): Kuda Village Council (KVC) has resolved to endorse and stand by NBCC’s ‘Clean Election Campaign’ guidelines.
This was one of the five-point resolutions adopted by KVC during a special meeting held on February 22, in view of the upcoming 14th NLA election 2023, KVC secretary stated in an update.
KVC resolved that there should be no mass campaigning and to allow use of loudspeakers and setting up of youth camps within its jurisdiction. The decision to this effect was adopted keeping view to maintain peaceful atmosphere to facilitate clean election.
“Voting impersonation and infiltration of voters from outside the village jurisdiction shall be strictly dealt with. No outsider shall be allowed inside the village polling stations on polling day,” KVC stated.
The council also resolved that all forms of anti-social conduct such as use of alcohol and intoxicants, monetary inducement, incitement/ provocation to conflict before, during or post polls etc., would be strictly dealt with and cautioned that perpetrators would be liable for any penalty deemed necessary.
It further stated that convoy of more than three vehicles on the polling day would be prohibited as per ECI protocols.
