KU, KNSK Chen unit celebrate silver jubilee

Dimapur, November 5: Chen unit of the Konyak Union (KU) and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) celebrated its silver jubilee on November 3 and 4 with the minister of RD & REPA, CL John as the chief guest on the theme “Striding in unity.”
The chief guest, in his addressing, congratulated the pioneers, leaders of KU and KNSK, individuals and participants for their role in leading the society over the years. He urged the people to forgive and forget rancour of the past on the occasion of jubilee.
He also encouraged the people to inculcate humility in oneself, fear God, lean on the gospel of Christ and prepare themselves for the golden jubilee with hard work and corruption free in the society.
Parliamentary Secretary of CAWD, Yollow Konyak, who graced the cultural programme as the chief guest, also congratulated the leaders of KU and KNSK Chen unit.
SDO (C) Chen, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo (NCS) urged the leaders of KU and KNSK Chen Unit and the public to retrospect the past 25 years. He highlighted the significance of jubilee and encouraged KU and KNSK to be more responsible in the society. He added that government officials are only to assist as much responsibility for welfare and development of public depends on NGOs like KU and KNSK.
He further encouraged the people to eradicate the bad traditions and follow the good ones so as to become a civilized society.
W Wangyuh Konyak, former Lok Sabha MP and vice president of Konyak Union, also spoke on the occasion.
Rev. AM Sheipa dedicated the silver jubilee monolith. Rev. Methjen, finance secretary KBBB, and Rev. Yeangphong, church & evangelism secretary KBBB, were the speakers. Rev. M Manshok, pastor of Longchang Baptist Church, dedicated the jubilee hall.
