KTC Open Penalty shootout series-1 on June 22

Kohima, June 2 (EMN): The 3rd edition of the Kohima Football League organised by Kohima Town Club (KTC) will begin from June 8 on league basis with seven teams vying for the coveted trophy. For the first time, the KTC will be introducing the Open Penalty shootout series-1 at the IG Stadium in Kohima on June 22. The club stated that the one-day tournament was added to the league aiming to promote the only football league in the state capital by bringing football lovers from all over the district and enabling them to take part in the penalty shootout which apart from full time professional footballer, any amateur football player young and old, male or female can participate. The penalty shootout champions will walk away with a cash prize of INR 50,000 while the runners-up will receive INR 30,000, including the individual awards for best goalkeeper with INR 5000 along with citations for each award.
