Imphal, Dec. 13 (EMN): Twenty-seven-year-old bodybuilder, Maradona Kshetrimayum was crowned Senior Mr. Manipur in the 59th Mr. Manipur Contest 2021, organised under the supervision of the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) in Imphal.
Kshetrimayum, a resident of Kakching Makha Leikai in Manipur’s Kakching district won a cash prize of INR 1.5 lakh, while W Priyobrata of Liangtuang Gym Kamei Foundation, and Bhopendra Nongmeikapam of Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) secured the second and third positions respectively.
In Women's Bodybuilding competition, Karishma Chingangbam of Super Gym Khurai emerged the winner while Thangjam Leima Chanu of Universal Gymnasium, Kakyai and Keisam Sinthoibi Mangang of Royal Gym, Ningomthong stood second and third in this event.
Anthony of Super Gym Khurai bagged the overall master title as Nameirakpam Ojit Singh of Life-style Gym Khongman and Chandam Indira of YBB Gym Pishumthong were adjudged overall second and third respectively.
Physically-challenged, Naorem Jayanta of Royal Fitness Academy Thoubal, Ahongsangbam Nanao Singh of Bishnu Gym Bishnupur and Tharoijam Robin of AMBBA stood first, second and third respectively in the bodybuilding competition for physically-challenged persons.
According to General Secretary, Yumlembam Sunanta of AMBBA, altogether 158 body builders (both men and women) representing 56 Gymnasiums from across Manipur participated in the event. Manipur has so far produced more than 10 Mr. India, 3 Junior Mr. World and one Mr. World title holder body builders.
MPSC team bagged the overall team champion of the competition while Royal Gym Ningomthong was awarded the runner-up. Among the Gyms, Kanglei Fitness Centre Kiyamgei has the maximum number of participants in all the competitions, which was categorised in seven groups.
