DIMAPUR — The department of Mathematics, Kohima
Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ), in collaboration with MTTS Trust, organised a
two-day MTTS (Mathematics Training and Talent Search) overture programme for
undergraduate Mathematics students on November 29 and 30 at Kohima Science
College with Dr. Jane Roseline Yimchunger, associate professor at KSCJ, as the
coordinator.
The resource persons for the programme were Prof. Bhaba
Kumar Sarma from IIT Guwahati and Dr. Nabajit Talukdar from Cotton University,
stated a press release.
The objective of the programme was to provide participants
with a glimpse of the MTTS classroom experience and to introduce students to
the MTTS method of learning.
The training programme was attended by 50 undergraduate
students from Kohima Science College and Patkai Christian College (Autonomous),
along with research scholars and faculty members from the Mathematics
Department of Kohima Science College.
During the programme, the resource persons introduced
students to learning Mathematics through group discussions, book-reading
methods, and guidance on sourcing appropriate video lectures for various
Mathematics topics.
The students were provided with insights into critical
thinking and analytical skills to enhance their understanding of the subject.
The programme was rigorous, with sessions conducted from 9 am to 5 pm on both
days.
